Chemical Description

  • Acrylic Acid also known as propenioc acid identifies as an organic emulsion, its chemical formula is CH2 = CHCOOH.
  • It's a tintless liquid and oozes an acrid odor, its boiling point stands at 286 degrees Fahrenheit and freezes at 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Acrylic acid undergoes the typical responses of a carboxylic acid. When it reacts with an alcohol, it forms the corresponding ester. The esters and mariners of acrylic acid are inclusively known as acrylates also known as propenoates.
  • Acrylic acid and its esters readily combine with themselves (to form polyacrylic acid) or other monomers (e.g. acrylamides, acrylonitrile, vinyl composites, styrene, and butadiene) by replying at their double bond, forming homopolymers or copolymers.
  • Acrylic Acid is substantially used for conformation of polymers, its most common uses are to manufacture plastics, maquillages, bonds and polishes.
  • It's generally obtained from catalytic partial oxidation of propene. Propene is a derivative of ethylene and gasoline.
  • Acrylic acid has now taken over to dominate the feedstock of the particular care request, which has been made possible due to its rapid-fire polymerization and its effectiveness in delivering the carboxylate functionality.
  • Its capacity now exceeds 2 million tons per time worldwide, which is distributed primarily in North America, Japan and Europe.
  • This Acid is veritably dangerous for our skin as it's veritably prickly and sharp to it. Eye contact with acrylic acid can beget severe and unrecoverable injuries to them.
  • According to studies performed on the creatures, acrylic acid has shown that high boluses are responsible for dropped weight gain, also it can be converted into anon-toxic lactic acid.
  • Acrylic acid Is mainly associated with occupational diseases that it can cause to our skin due to its exposure to our bare skin. One such disease is known as Contact Urticaria, which is acute or moderate in nature and non-fatal.
