  • Isobutyl methacrylate (IBMA) comes under organic compounds, its chemical formula is C8H14O2. It also comes under the methacrylate esters family and is formed with a double bond between carbon and oxygen atoms in the group of esters.
  • It is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor, has a very low melting point of -80 degrees Celsius and a very high boiling point of approximately 142 degrees Celsius. The weight of the molecules of isobutyl methacrylate is almost 142.2 grams per molecule.

  • IBMA is insoluble in water but is soluble in various organic solvents including ethanol and acetone.
