Dithiophosphates are prepared by reacting an aliphatic alcohol with phosphorus pentasulfide to form a dialkyl dithiophosphoric acid and neutralizing the acid to form the metal salt.

Isopropyl Ethyl Thionocarbamate is made by reacting an alkali metal hydroxide, carbon disulfide, and an aliphatic alcohol having 1-6 carbon atoms. The mixture is then treated with an alkyl halide and an alkyl amine is introduced to the mixture. Then by separating and drying the desired chemical is finally obtained.
