Chemical Description

• Diethanolamine is an amino alcohol with a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid above 30ºC.
• It is also used as an absorbent in nonionic surfactants, emulsifiers, polishing agents, industrial gas purification agents, and lubricants.
• Diethanolamine, also known as Iminodiethanolamine, is an intermediate of the herbicide glyphosate.
• It is used as a purifying agent for gasses and as a raw material for synthetic drugs and organic synthesis.
• The fatty acid salts of morpholine can be used as preservatives, and morpholine can also be used to produce the central inhibitory drug formoxydine or as a solvent.
• Diethanolamine is used in analytical chemistry as a reagent and as a stationary liquid for gas chromatography, selectively retaining and separating alcohols, glycols, amines, pyridines, quinolines, piperazines, mercaptans, thioethers, and water.
• It is an important corrosion inhibitor that can be used in boiler water treatment, automotive engine coolant, drilling and cutting oils, and other types of lubricating oils to play a corrosion-inhibiting role.
• It is also used as an absorbent for purifying acidic gasses in natural gas.
• Used as an emulsifier in various cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
• In the textile industry, it can also be used as a lubricant, wetting agent, softener, and other organic synthesis materials.
• Used as an acid absorbent, plasticizer, softener, emulsifier, etc. in adhesives.
• It is also used as an absorbent for acidic gasses (such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, etc.) in petroleum gas, natural gas, and other gasses.
• It is a raw material for synthesizing pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dye intermediates, and surfactants.
• Used as an emulsifier for oils and waxes under acidic conditions and as a softener for leather and synthetic fibers.
